WeWork’s Head of Real Estate, Aaron Ellison has departed the co-working firm. Ellison led a 50-person leasing team, and joins Granit Gjonbalaj, Wendy Silverstein, and Sarah Pontius on the list of real estate executives who have left in recent months, Business Insider reported.
- Backdrop: Since November, nearly 3,000 workers have been laid off and the overall valuation has plummeted from $47 billion to $2.9 billion.
- Co-working firms bands together: More than 20 of the world’s largest co-working firms, which include Industrious, Convene, JustCo of Singapore, and Regus have formed a new umbrella organization known as the Workplace Operator Readiness Council to focus on health and safety. Members said the group would release a playbook this week detailing specific steps they have agreed to take to make workplaces safer, including contact tracing, decontamination, and social distancing.
