Law firm Allen & Overy was close to signing a lease at Tishman Speyer’s 630 Fifth Avenue before the coronavirus pandemic hit. Instead, the firm negotiated a five-year lease extension to its current 143,331-square-foot space at Rockefeller Group’s 1221 Sixth Avenue, according to The Real Deal.

  • Worth Noting: Existing tenants at the 1.65 million-square-foot office tower (AKA McGraw-Hill Building) include: White & Case, Dentons, Mayer Brown, Comcast, and SiriusXM.
  • Tech tenants are the real questions: Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey emailed employees on Tuesday telling them that they’d be allowed to work from home permanently, even after the coronavirus pandemic lockdown passes. Some jobs that require physical presence, such as maintaining servers, will still require employees to come in.
  • Be Smart: Dorsey had announced the company’s intent to work in a “distributed” way before the virus, but the pandemic forced the company to move the timeline up. Twitter upped its allowance for work from home supplies to $1,000 for all employees, BuzzFeed first reported. [TRD+BuzzFeed]
