Co-working startup Industrious has raised $80 million in a Series D funding round. Investors in the round included Brookfield, Equinox, Canada Pension Plan, TF Cornerstone, and Granite Properties. This brings its total money raised to $222 million.
- Revenue-sharing agreements: Industrious is moving away from capital intensive leases for new locations to simply partnering with landlords to provide everything for tenants. Goal is to become a hotel management company for office space.
- Be Smart: As the company competes with WeWork, it has built an impressive roster of clients. They include: Chipotle, Full Screen, Hyatt, Spotify, Lyft, and Instacart.
