Former Uber CEO keeps company shrouded in secrecy

Travis Kalanick’s CloudKitchens has acquired FoodStar, a startup that operates over 100 kitchens dedicated to facilitate online food orders across the UK, according to the Financial Times. The goal is to decrease the upfront and operational costs for deliver-only restaurants.

What’s Cloud Kitchens: The startup builds kitchens to help restaurants with food delivery. It also acquires distressed real estate assets and repurposes them for the digital age. Interestingly, the former Uber CEO is now competing with UberEats.
