Internet giant headed to St. John’s Terminal
Google will lease Oxford Properties Group’s planned 1.3 million SF office building at St. John’s Terminal (AKA 550 Washington Street) in the West Village, according to the WSJ+Bloomberg. The company will make it the centerpiece of its new 1.7 million SF Hudson Square Campus. It also signed lease agreements at 315 and 345 Hudson Street.
By the numbers: With around 7,000 workers currently employed in the City, Google plans to double its workforce over the next decade. The company recently acquired the Chelsea Market building at 75 Ninth Avenue from Jamestown for $2.4 billion.
