StreetEasy raises fees

Zillow has taken the startup to the next level

StreetEasy is raising its fee to post a rental listing from $3 to $4.50 per day. The Zillow Group-owned platform is monetizing what has become the online hub for renters.

Number of listings: After the firm started charging $3 per day last July, listings plummeted 55 percent in 24 hours to around 14,000. Now, StreetEasy boasts 17,400 rental listings across the five boroughs. Monetization has clearly worked and the company has successfully disrupted rental brokerage.
