A poll released by Harris Insights found that many Americans still view the co-working industry negatively. The survey of 2,000 people found that 43% of respondents described the spaces as lacking privacy, 38% perceive them to be noisy, and 31% say they feel crowded.
The silver lining: 35% of millennials said that office sharing is great for collaboration.
Takeaway: With around 2.3 million members spread across 17,725 co-working spaces worldwide, the industry has seen an average annual growth rate of 16.1% since 2007. It will be interesting to monitor growth in the coming years.
