Kushner Companies and the Trump Organization mutually agreed to sever hotel collaborations in New Jersey, according to the NYTimes.
Political spin: Ethics watchdogs suggested that collaborating on a proposed Jersey Shore project could have influenced Trump’s judgment about Jared’s role in the administration.
Bottom Line: With fierce public scrutiny, it made sense for the families to part ways, especially with little at stake financially.
Business is Business: Will Obeid, formerly of Gemini Real Estate Advisors, recently joined Kushner as Head of Hospitality. Kushner Companies and the Trump Organization now differ on elements of hotel management (e.g. union negotiations).
