Real estate tech startup Localize has raised an $8 million Series A round, according to Inman. The funding round was led by Zvi Limon and Avigdor Willenz.

What they do: The artificial intelligence startup provides perspective homebuyers with information about a house’s surroundings. With access to this information (think subway shutdowns), the buyer gains insight into how the neighborhood will change over the course of his ownership.

Founder Steve Kalifowitz explains: “People pay a premium to live near a subway station, but only after they move, discover that it is going to be closed for renovations.
