Real estate tech startup Localize has raised an $8 million Series A round, according to Inman. The funding round was led by Zvi Limon and Avigdor Willenz.
What they do: The artificial intelligence startup provides perspective homebuyers with information about a house’s surroundings. With access to this information (think subway shutdowns), the buyer gains insight into how the neighborhood will change over the course of his ownership.
Founder Steve Kalifowitz explains: “People pay a premium to live near a subway station, but only after they move, discover that it is going to be closed for renovations. They choose an apartment for the breathtaking view, without knowing that there is already a building permit in the pipeline for a high-rise that will block it completely.”
